If you’re interested in travel, but have never visited the AAA Findlay Automobile Club office at 1550 Tiffin Ave., consider making a pit stop soon. As one of the few AAA clubs with a Travel Store, the Findlay location offers a selection of reasonably-priced luggage sets and travel essentials. Anti-theft purses, bedbug spray, and road kits are just a few of their unique offerings. With a membership, discounts apply to the items in the store – and far beyond it. The perfect option for the person who has everything, AAA membership is a multi-faceted gift.

Social Findlay spoke with AAA Findlay Automobile Club president to learn more about AAA. The Tiffin Ave. location serves Hancock County residents, although memberships can be transferred if you move. Members receive a quarterly magazine which includes coupons (including to local businesses), and travel specials. Home & auto insurance and supplemental Medicare are available through the local club, as well as international diving permits & passport photos. Members only can purchase E-ZPass at the AAA office; the next-nearest location that offers them is Bowling Green or Lima. Three experienced World Travel Agents are available at no cost when you book your cruise, tour, or vacation package through AAA. Auto Travel Counselors are available to help you design your next road trip and provide you with maps along the way.

Base membership is available at $52 annually (just $1/week). This allows 4 services (such as running out of gas), with a 3-mile tow. The $77 tier provides 100-mile tows. If you’re a Sprint phone customer, you can get a free basic AAA membership, or just pay the difference to upgrade.

AAA also offers a Visa Rewards credit card. There is no annual fee, and no foreign transaction fees when used in other countries. By using the card, you earn discounts, point bonuses on items such as gas & prescriptions, and booking bonuses. Booking a trip through AAA – with or without the card – often earns you perks such as early onboarding, cabin credits, and gifts in the room.

Wherever you go, be sure to ask if they offer a AAA discount – even in local businesses around the country. Some Findlay specials can be found at the Bistro, Culvers The Granary, We Serve.Coffee, Tri-State Restorations, Circle of Friends, Cedar Valley Café, and many more. You can view the full list of local discounts here. National discounts are available from a huge range of businesses including providers of glasses, clothing, prescriptions, phones, computers, food, and more.
