BGSU Collegiate Chorale

January 19 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

One of 5 curricular choirs from the Bowling Green State University College of Musical Arts, the Collegiate Chorale is the university’s flag-ship choral ensemble. Members study and perform a wide range of repertoire that spans from the Renaissance period to the modern era. The ensemble’s mission is to engage audiences with authentic and conscientious performances of sophisticated and challenging music. We seek to connect with listeners and each other intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually.

The Collegiate Chorale has produced a variety of CDs and has made numerous appearance at ACDA and OMEA conferences. The group also tours annually, taking them to locations throughout the United States, Canada and Europe. Recent domestic tours have included visits to Chicago, Pittsburgh, New York, Florida, and Boston. Highlights for the 2019-2020 academic year include a performance of John Corigliano’s Fern Hill with chamber orchestra at the BGSU New Music Festival, a winter tour to New Orleans, an invited concert at the Ohio Music Education Association’s Professional Development Conference in Cincinnati, and a performance of Haydn’s Paukenmesse with the BGSU Philharmonia, A Cappella Choir, and University Choral Society. This year’s tour program, “Of Life and Music,” includes works by contemporary composers James MacMillan, John Corigliano, and Erkis Esenvalds, as well as standard repertoire by Schubert, Distler and Bach.
