Many special events and services are coming up at First Presbyterian Church as Easter approaches. All community members are welcome to attend the events and services.
The Sunday before Easter is known as Palm Sunday. This year, it will take place on March 25th. The Children’s Choir will be singing at the 9:30am service. and palm branches will be provided for the congregation to wave.
Maundy Thursday takes place the Thursday before Easter (March 29th this year). On this night, churches remember the Last Supper of Jesus and his disciples. All are invited to a dinner in the Fellowship Hall at 6 pm, and a service will follow in the sanctuary at 7 pm.
The sanctuary will be open to the community from noon to 5 pm on Good Friday (March 30th). Anyone is welcome to come and pray at any time.
Families are invited to a Holy Week Festival with an Easter egg hunt on Saturday, March 31st. Activities will culminate in an Easter celebration, featuring an egg hunt! The items the children can find are allergy-free.
Despite taking place on April 1st, Easter Sunday is no April fool’s joke. A sunrise service will begin outside at 6:30 am, with a traditional service starting at 9:30 am in the sanctuary.
