If you’ve taken a drive through downtown, you’ve surely noticed the construction happening around Marathon’s campus. One of the main projects they’re working on is the Hancock Hotel. The hotel is set to open late 2017, and we should see the building “go vertical” this month, according to Gary Heminger, chairman and chief executive officer of Marathon.
While it is privately owned by Marathon, the hotel will be available to our entire community to use and enjoy. This high-end hotel will have 100 rooms and a ballroom to accommodate up to 400 people. One thing we love is the way that they plan to match the architecture that currently exists downtown, and add to its beauty.
Findlay Mayor Lydia Mihalik is thankful for the new life that Marathon has brought to Findlay, especially our growing downtown area. “We’re thankful for the people here at Marathon,” the Mihalik said. “…Marathon is a part of us and you have definitely made our sense of place and our sense of community so much better. Thank you so much.”
Take a look through photos of the hotel’s progress. We can’t wait to see it become the amazing hotel we know it will be!
