Husband and wife team, Mark & Ashley Boehler, recently set up shop in the same building: Ashley runs Revive Hair Studio alongside Mark’s Quality PT Physical Therapy (their son, Hudson, is pictured with them above).
Revive’s doors opened on June 1st, and has 2 employees in addition to Ashley. Mark’s business just opened this week, on Monday, August 7th. The two will have a Grand Opening/Ribbon Cutting October 5th, from 4:30-7pm.
“I graduated from the University of Findlay in 2014, and took a job in Tiffin, which is where I’m from originally”, tells Mark. “I worked there for a couple of years, and realized this is what I wanted to do on my own. We hunted for locations, and found this place. It was a little bigger than what I wanted. Ashley’s been in the salon business a long time, so we just decided to knock the wall down, and open them together.”
Revive Hair Studio
We immediately noticed the cleanliness of both the salon and gym. They smell clean, and both are spotless. Ashley told us they use Norwex, which is free of harmful chemicals, to clean. The environmentally-friendliness of this salon goes well beyond the cleaning supplies.
“This is Findlay’s first Green Circle salon,” Ashley explains. “We recycle 80-90% of everything we use. Mark and I both eat organic at home, so we wanted to try to keep that in our thoughts here.”
“Davines is a sustainable company, and I use their products in the salon. The color has no smell, and has more conditioning. It’s not harmful.” Davines uses food-grade containers, so you can actually store food in them once the product has been used. Farmers make these products specifically for them; each package tells what farm made the ingredients. They utilize zero-impact manufacturing, meaning they plant trees, and use solar energy.
This sounds like it might come with a cost, but Ashley reassured us that the prices are actually similar to that of other area salons. The color even lasts longer than the average hair coloring, based on Revive’s client reviews.
In addition to hair care, Revive also offers makeup services. “Our makeup is Emani, which is vegan. It is as close as you can get to organic when it comes to makeup. There are no harsh chemicals. We’re the only salon in Ohio to carry it!”
Quality PT Physical Therapy
Walking from the salon, past the front reception desk, we entered Mark’s Physical Therapy gym. Mark offers 1-on-1 sessions with patients, rather than pumping people in and out quickly. He utilizes hands-on manual therapy techniques, such as muscle energy, active release, joint mobilization and manipulation, cupping, dry needle, and vestibular rehab for vertigo.
“Dry needle started to be used in Ohio in 2009, but it’s been developed over 40 years,” Mark explains. “It helps treat neuromuscular conditions such as neck, back, and shoulder pain, tennis elbow, plantar fasciitis, and sciatic pain.”
Quality PT offers therapy for a wide range of health issues, ranging from migraines to prosthetic training, blurry vision, TMJ, sports rehabilitation, and beyond.
Patients do not need referrals to visit Quality PT. They have direct access in Ohio, meaning anyone is welcome to come in. Following a free screening, Mark will work with your primary care doctor to continue treatment.
