Until recently, it felt like Findlay was one of the last places in the United States without a Starbucks. We did (and do), however, have several incredible local tea & coffee shops. And we love our local businesses! Each one has a unique blend of elements that makes it special: whether you need a quiet place to study or you want to listen to some live music, you’re sure to find the perfect atmosphere and beverage for you.
Be sure to let us know in the comments where your favorite place to get coffee or tea is!
Coffee Amici
via Coffee Amici
328 South Main Street
Opened in 2002, Coffee Amici quickly became a staple in Downtown Findlay. As we’ve said in a past article, Coffee Amici is described as having “a friendly aroma,” and that holds true both for the delicious scents of coffee and baked goods in the air, and for the presence Coffee Amici holds in the community. They display local art, and host local musicians every week. Stop by for a cup of delicious, free-trade Crimson Cup Coffee or Harney & Sons Tea.

George House
1041 North Main Street
Located across the street from the University of Findlay, George House is a favorite of college students and non-college students alike. The long storefront houses shelves of used books with tables hidden among them, and if you’re lucky, you might get a seat by the fireplace. Try one of their delicious signature lattes or their tea of the day, and pick up some wholesale spices and Republic of Tea tea. Their pistachio muffins are famous in the community, and in the summer, there’s no better way to cool down than with an Australian Ice or Bubble Tea.
Charis Recommends: Australian Chai or London Fog (earl grey tea latte with vanilla)
Ashley Recommends: Chai milkshake
Cracked Pot’s Tea Shop
221 Broadway Street
If you’re looking to expand your appreciation of hot beverages, check out Cracked Pot’s Tea Shop, one of the newest local businesses on our list. Enjoy a cup or a pot of tea, munch on one of their specialty baked goods, and leave with some amazing smelling and tasting bags of loose-leaf tea (ask for a sample bag if you want to try something new).

Fort Findlay Coffee & Doughnut
Fort Findlay Coffee & Doughnuts is your one-stop location for breakfast on Tiffin Ave. Formerly a Dunkin’ Donuts, Fort Findlay is now a local favorite. If you work in an office building, you have most likely had Fort Findlay doughnuts at work at some point or another. If you work early in the morning, Fort Findlay is your best bet, as it opens at 5am every day but Sunday (6am on Sunday).
Charles Recommends: Breakfast Sandwich, Doughnut, and Coffee special
Other coffee shops in the area include Caribou Coffee (Great Scot on Broad Ave.) Starbucks (Kroger on Tiffin), Tim Horton’s, and Biggby Coffee.
