In addition to housing The Courier, 701 Western Avenue in Findlay also houses production operations for other Ohio newspapers. Growing production responsibilities means that Ogden Newspapers, owner of The Courier, is hiring for several positions. The Distribution/Mailroom Manager supervises the inserter staff, prepares reports and schedules, interviews potential employees, monitors employee time and attendance, and manages employee conformance to safety policies and procedures. This is a full time, late night shift from Monday to Friday with Saturdays & Sundays off. Benefits Include: health, vision & dental insurance, 401(k) plan, paid vacation and sick time as well as six paid holidays.
The Courier is hiring Bundle Delivery Drivers to deliver bundles of newspapers to carriers, stores, racks and Post Offices. The delivery area is McComb, Hoytville, Deshler, North Baltimore, Van Buren. This is an independent contractor position. The applicant must have a dependable vehicle, insurance and valid driver license. You must be available Monday – Saturday early mornings for approximately 3 ½ hours per day. Pay is $800 per month. Mailroom Prep employees help insert and prepare a number of local daily newspapers for delivery. No experience is necessary, but prospective employees must be dependable and willing to work a night shift. Please contact Victoria at mailroom@thecourier.com if you are interested.
The Courier is searching for an energetic, motivated Marketing/Sales Representative who will increase print and digital sales in the greater Findlay/Hancock County area. An established account list will be provided, as well as opportunity for growth through new and dormant accounts. The applicant must be a team player who can meet daily deadlines, in a rapidly changing environment. A proven sales record is preferred. Salary plus commission, 401K, medical/dental/vision. Multiple Delivery routes are available around town, including walking routes. Delivery is 6 days a week (Monday through Saturday). Applicants must be at least 12 years old.
