A fun and unique new business will be opening in Findlay in the coming months: Expired Time Escape Games. We spoke with the owner, Jason Teter, about his new venture.
If you have never played an escape room game before, you can think of it as a big interactive puzzle. “It gives people something active to do, that you don’t have to have a certain skill set or physical fitness level. You don’t have to have a ton of knowledge of history, or things like that. It’s something everyone can play,” Jason told us. “It gives people something active to do that you don’t have to be good at, or physically fit. You don’t have to have a ton of knowledge of history, or things like that. It’s something everyone can play.”
Jason and his fiancee, Amanda Obermyer,”discovered escape rooms a couple years ago, and had so much fun doing them that every time we go to a new city, we try to find an escape room as something fun for the family. We wanted Findlay to have something unique to do that was more active than just sitting around.”
Amanda owns Once Upon a Child, Plato’s Closet, and Style Encore. Expired Time will be a few doors down, in the same Tiffin Ave. strip mall.
The Findlay facility will have multiple rooms – likely 3 or 4. They hope to be open by the end of November. There will be recommended group sizes, and certain rooms will only be able to hold certain numbers of players. Jason noted that it would be very difficult for one person to do it on their own. He and Amanda have done 6-player games as a team of 2, so there is some flexibility.
The facility will offer party packages, and will also be available for corporate and team-building events. To keep up to date with opening and booking information, follow them on Facebook, and check in on their website.
