Mane Stream Saddlery opened earlier this summer at 1100 Croy Drive in Findlay. The tack shop offers a wide variety of equestrian items include Western wear, boots, and horse health & care items.

Owner, Sarah Stearns, moved from her native Pennsylvania to attend the University of Findlay, bringing her horse with her. Upon completion of an Animal Science degree, she married a local and stayed in the area. Internships, agronomy jobs, and working on the family farm kept her busy for a few years, but the decision to open a tack shop just made sense to her. “It’s what I know about and love, so I just went for it!”

Stearns pointed out that the majority of items for sale in the shop are Made in the USA. Some of the leather goods are handmade by Berlin Custom Leather in Millersburg. Kimes Ranch jeans are a current favorite among Western riders (and Mane Stream is the only shop in the area to carry this brand). A variety of Tony Lama work boots, western boots, and casual shoes and Professional’s Choice bits and girths are other popular purchases. A variety of dac supplements are also available.

Many Western show outfits are often custom made, and can therefore be quite expensive. A unique consignment option at the shop allows 4H members and students to afford high-end show clothing at reasonable rates. Used saddles and show clothing can be taken to the store for consignment, trade-in, or store credit.

You can visit the store Tuesday-Friday from 10am-6pm and Saturdays from 10-5. It is dog-friendly, so feel free to bring company. Follow them on Facebook and Instagram for updates.

You can expect to be greeted by Festus 🙂
