Since its opening day on April 7th, 2017, Park Place Grill has been steadily growing a following. The restaurant, located alongside Emory Adams at 1600 S. Blanchard St., is owned by Nikki & Andy Oswalt. Andy’s mom, Bobbi, is the manager. Nikki hails from Findlay, and Andy was raised in Ashland. They met at OSU, and eventually moved together to Findlay.
Nikki explained to us how the idea came about for a restaurant in this location. “I used to go to Emory Adams with the kids, and there wasn’t anything nearby [restaurant-wise] on that end of town.” She spent months observing the building, back when it was the “Sweet Retreat”. She kept note of the traffic flow, and passers-by in the area. Her logistics and marketing background helped her along the way. When the building became available, they were ready to get the ball rolling. Thanks to Andy’s construction background, most of the renovations were done themselves.
Nikki created a family-oriented menu, ranging from kids meals to soups, burgers, and many more options. Her favorite is the strawberry feta salad. A variety of specialty burgers also stand out. The restaurant serves food quickly, but it is all made-to-order.
If you dine in, staff will come to your seat to take your order. Just find a booth or table inside, or take a seat at a picnic table outside. There’s also a walk-up window on the porch where to-go orders can be placed.
Park Place Grill is open Monday – Saturday from 11am-8pm. Whether you need a full meal or just an ice cream treat, stop by and check them out. You’re sure to enjoy the low-key, laid-back atmosphere of this friendly and welcoming restaurant!
The restaurant offers daily specials. Visit their Facebook page for the latest offerings.
