The Spirit of Wipro Run is an annual event that brings Wipro together across the globe. This year’s Findlay event takes place on Saturday, September 17th at 3pm at the Riverside Park Pavilion.
The Spirit of Wipro Run gives back to the community, and connects with the company’s larger corporate mission of creating a just, equitable, humane and sustainable world. Funds raised at this year’s event will benefit the West Ohio Food Bank’s Backpack Program.
The program involves discrete placement of a bag of food into students’ backpacks at the end of the school week. The bags contain enough food for two meals that the students are able to prepare themselves, if needed. Many students go an entire weekend without a healthy or proper meal.
A team from IntelliHARTx is participating in the run, and is looking forward to handing over a check to the Backpack Program. Social Findlay spoke with Ryan at IntelliHARTx to learn more about the program. ‘Students from Kindergarten – 5th grade who are eligible for free or reduced lunch and breakfast are eligible for the program. There are about 1700 students in Findlay City Schools who are eligible.’
